Our reviews
When I lived in NYC I dreamed of coming to CDMX to try this barbacoa. Be careful, they only open on the weekends. I recommend the caldito de barbacoa and the rib taco (at the same time).

I don't think there are many places to drink good pulque in Mexico City, but El Hidalguense is definitely one of them. They have a good selection of very well made curados. Great companion to "barbacha".

Fame (well-earned) keeps this place crowded, where patience will always be rewarded with friendliness and barbecue tacos for lunches of champions. My order: tacos comaleados de barbacoa and escamoles. And a beer.

Yes, it's a strawberry barbacoa, but yes, it's also extremely smoky, meaty and juicy. The sopes huastecos and guacamole are worth ordering. Plus, you can linger over a cup of cafecito de olla. Ideal for when you've already left the trusted stand on the weekend.

It has a very good barbecue. But my favorite thing about it is that they open at 7 in the morning, so it is for early risers... or for the sleepless.

Simple, cozy and familiar, where the irresistible smell of barbecue catches you. The must-try? A kilo of Tulancingo style barbecue with freshly made tortillas, all its sauces and a glass of water of the day or a good atole.
